STORY of TRANQUILITY BAY:
All of the island series contains places we have visited and sources when used are from my personal pictures taken. This is an original oil painting and when purchased, will arrive with a certificate of authenticity.
We visited Kauai for the first time to celebrate our son's graduation from college. Before going to Kauai, we had owned a time share in Moorea Tahiti and we were wanting to find somewhere a little closer that was similar. In those days, Kauai was more natural than today. While it was not primitive as Tahiti was, the ocean, snorkeling and foliage areas there reminded us of our previous travels in Tahiti which felt like home. My son and husband took the Napali Coast hike which gave them beautiful coastal scenes from the mountains looking down. They also got some pictures of an experience inside a cave or most likely a volcanic tunnel where the ocean water created a fun and fantasy like area. The north shore is the opposite side of Lihue where the airport is. Our airbnb was a nice 3 bedroom home which had its own hot tub, was across the road from a rocky shoreline, had a beautiful mountain view outside the bedroom window which was amazing to wake up to. One of the fun things about this home was that it had a piano. You are never at a loss for things to do in any part of Hawaii. Of course we went to a luau, and also visited "Jurassic Park" and rode a helicopter to see the mountains and waterfalls up close. There have been many movies made on the island of Kauai. Kauai is our second most favorite place of fun and relaxation next to Moorea and Bora Bora. I hope that I have captured that feeling of beauty and relaxation that you can enjoy and soak in from this painting.
